Asian Retread Conference 2018

On the 2nd and 3rd of October the Asian Retread Conference took place, in Kuala Lumpur, Malesia. For the second time Salvadori was among the exhibitors and participants.

The Asian Business Media (ABM), who is a magazine publishing company, organized this conference. Among the magazines that ABM publishes, there are Tyre Asia (in which we have been advertising our products for years), Rubber Asia and Autoparts Asia. Epic Fresh Malaysia also collaborates in the organization in collaboration with TRIB (Tire Retread and Repair Information Bureu) USA.

ARC Malesia is a biennial event that deals with Retreading business topics. It offers to many exhibitors and participants the possibility to share information and ideas and to create new business contacts. Visitors come from South East Asia, India and Australia.

The themes of this last edition have been the following: BETTER, FASTER, CHEAPER. As producers of machineries and articles for the retreading business, they could help customers providing them with the best solutions, optimizing times and reducing costs.

There were 13 exhibitors, among them Marigo and Cima (from Italy), there have been 19 presentations during the 2 days of conference with a focus on South-East Asia, about the retreading market, the challenges of the market and the future expectations.

The principal themes concerned the number of retreading industries still active in Malesia; Chinese pneumatics and the risks that the South East Market is going through. Anti-dumping laws are increasing the risk to intensify Chinese pneumatics imports in Malesia and the neighboring zones.

Salvadori has been working for more than 20 years in the Asian Market. It has been participating from the beginning of the 90s to exhibitions like Tyrexpo Asia in Singapore. In 2016 we participated for the first time to ARC which has been a pleasant surprise and innovation. We were not sure about what was waiting for us; we found a really well organized event. It enclosed in a unique place the major players of the Retreading market and it attracted various visitors.

To sum up, this conference was very useful for us in order to meet customers, create new contacts and to update about the situation of the market and the news. Now we are waiting to know what will be organized in 2020. Maybe a change in the location so that new companies would be encouraged to participate to this event and to bring it at a higher level.
